GTEN Data Collection Tool
We collect data on pre-travel health preparation through our nationwide consortium of travel clinics using an interactive web-tool available to healthcare providers at GTEN sites.
Symptom Tracking in International Travelers
We developed an app with collaborators at the UMass Chan Medical School that tracks symptoms and collects geographic location data from U.S. international travelers.
Travel-Related Biological Specimens
We evaluate health outcomes through the collection of biological samples from travelers. We collaborate with investigators at the Broad Institute Bacterial Genomics Group and with the Sabeti Lab to apply current genomic approaches to these analyses.
Modeling and Cost-Effectiveness Analyses
We collaborate with the Massachusetts General Hospital Medical Practice Evaluation Center to apply cost-modeling, using GTEN data, to investigate the benefits of travel health interventions.
Community Outreach
We improve pre-travel health preparation of high-risk travelers through our community-informed outreach program, Heading Home Healthy. We partner with the Minnesota Department of Public Health, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine for this work.
